I Want a True Regard

  1. I know this one, Darla! It’s so wonderful. It’s one of my favorite hymns we sang out in the shade of the huge ash and maple trees around the church on hot Sundays. In fact, last summer, at the memorial service for one of the members, this was one of the hymns.

    • What a great memory! It’s like hymns were made to be sung while sitting under a favorite tree. I’m reading a book by J.I. Packer and he includes four of this hymn’s verses in one of the chapters. When I read this verse, I was reminded of the “single, steady aim” I try to have for my writing.
