  1. This was one of my least favorite Lewis quotes–the idea that our hearts might need to be broken and accepting if He chooses this way to break it–but I understand it now. I’ve always been a reluctant or rebellious learner, I’m afraid.

    • Reluctant and rebellious? That doesn’t sound like you, Marylin. 🙂 I believe that God has done enough already to woo us to Himself and only resorts to the hard stuff when we ignore what He has revealed. That He continues to keep after us is the real and wondrous story.

      • Yes, Darla, both reluctant and rebellious…you could ask my mom if it weren’t for the dementia. But when I learn–and it’s often the hard way, but I do learn–it’s a deeply held knowledge. But I do always trust the Lord to hang in there and guide me.

  2. This is exactly what we went over in BSF in the chapter on suffering. Sadly there will come a time when the suffering will reveal His wrath.

    • That lesson was excellent — as they all are. I am so grateful for the evening class that opened nearby. It’s about a 20-minute freeway drive but so worth it.

      • Great – I was not sure if you were able to attend. This study is awesome – I even sing more louder in church, not sure if that is a good thing or not, but after reading about what is going on in heaven right now…I have no choice but to sing praise, glory and honor to our Lord! The seriousness of the final days has me praying constantly for those who do not know God or turned away from Him, we have a responsibility with this new knowledge of the last days.

        • I am sure that Jesus loves your singing, Patty! This week’s lesson is another tough one with what’s revealed, but I’m so glad to be studying this book, especially with a group of ordinary women of all age groups and backgrounds. Love it.

          • Thank goodness He does!! Our TL gave time to remind us of that. That our voices sound as beautiful to God as those of His angels! My group is a talkative group with great insight, you are right with the diversity of backgrounds it is leading to some inspiring and encouraging discussing. We are on Lesson 20 – and if it is the same one you are on, yes I agree God is revealing some mighty things –
